Qoobole! About me my community involvement interests...

My name is Marta Mora, otherwise known as 'la de los tamales', except I don't make them. I create a space, A Taste of Tequila and Tamales by the Bay, where each April we celebrate the art and history of tequila and tamales - two of Mexico's proudest gifts to the world. A Taste of Tequila and Tamales by the Bay is a platform for tamale makers to showcase their talent and offer tastes of some of the finest tamales the Greater Bay Area has to offer. This annual event benefits Benchmark Institute, a public interest nonprofit providing legal education, training, capacity building and support to other nonprofits serving the legal needs of California's underserved communities.

I bring my love of tamales and tequila (and by extension, margaritas!), music, storytelling and the arts - no event is complete unless all senses are satisfied and I really try to do that with A Taste of Tequila and Tamales by the Bay. I hope you will consider celebrating with us. The event takes place every April at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

Qoobole! ¿what's new?
