My name is Mark Gleason and I live and work in the Atlanta, Georgia area, and have lived here since 1986. My connection to the Latino Community is through a lifetime friend named Jose Velez who resides in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Jose and I are former Army brats as both of our father's were in the U.S. Army as career men. We met in New Jersey in high school in the early 70's. We lost touch for many years and recently caught up with each other on Facebook... the power of social media and networking.. need I say more!

To make a long story short, I own and operate C.H.A.M.P.S. an Athletic Marketing and Placement Service for college bound high school athletes. I started this business several years ago helping my own children get to the college athletics ranks. When I mentioned this to my friend Jose, he expressed an interest in my company and asked if there was a way for him to be involved. Jose had recently retired from the Federal Government and it seemed like perfect timing as well as a perfect fit.

He is now the Regional Director in Puerto Rico for our company and we are looking to help Latino high school athletes in PR and elsewhere. We are ramping up our efforts in these markets hence my desire to become a part of this group. I do appreciate the warm welcome I have experienced; I am looking forward to connecting with many of you in the near future.

Meanwhile, as fate would have it, I recently completed a highlight video for a baseball team from Corozal Puerto Rico, who were here in Cobb County, Ga. several weeks ago, for the 16U CABA World Series Baseball Tournament. I didn't know that this team was in the tournament until the evening I showed up at the event. I was attending doing video work for one of my local clients and by chance, they were playing this young team from Puerto Rico. I am hoping to use this promo video as an opportunity to let people know that we are an honest, hard working and sincere organization, who are dedicated to helping high school athletes'.."Compete at the next level"
